I arrived safely here in Curitiba. The Social Hostel is very close to everything — close enough that you can even walk. And that’s exactly what I did.
Whenever I arrive in a new city, I like to go for a walk. I enjoy having time to think, and at the same time, it’s a great opportunity to get to know the city as it truly is.
I observe the architecture, the pedestrians, the local businesses. One place in particular caught my attention: a café with an enormous library open to readers. I had already had coffee at the hostel, so I didn’t go in. But I plan to visit one of these days and make sure to get the name of the place, because I can’t remember it.
At the same time, you can notice the harsh reality of a capital city. On my way to the Botanical Garden — a modest one-hour-and-ten-minute walk — I saw many homeless people. A great many, in fact. And the smell isn’t the most pleasant either; the route passes by a river where the city’s sewage is discharged.
Despite this, the sense of safety is impressive for a major city. I see people casually walking through the streets wearing headphones.
I’ll be honest with you: I’m looking for a city to settle down in. My stay in Camboriú already had that objective in mind. Now, Curitiba. I don’t want to make that decision too soon. My intention is to keep moving around a bit more before making a final choice. Paraguaçu no longer aligns with my ambitions — beyond that, it has literally made me ill and depressed. I cannot remain in a place like that.
Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden is a beautiful and wonderful place to spend a peaceful day doing nothing at all. With someone by your side, it would be perfect. I sat quietly on a bench for a while as I charged my phone with my power bank. Afterwards, I walked back to the hostel.
During the trip here, I had a few more insights for a course on video content creation. I hope to refine it during my stay in Curitiba. I need a source of passive income so that I don’t have to rely solely on agency film projects, which can be subject to unpredictable periods of seasonality.
